Hint: use the help of a pin/needle.
1. Unhook the metal part from the plastic piece of the lanyard.
2. Pinch the thread, and push it through the hole on the silicone cover and the anchoring bar on the camera body.
3. Go through the other hole of the silicone.
4. Wrap it around the metal parts and tighten the loop slightly.
